FEATURES

Push/Talk (PPT)

With Sygnal you don't need specialised radio hardware or infrastructure - an existing wifi or LTE infrastructure will do. Multiple talkgroups are supported, and you can easily connect to local legacy radio systems, such as analogue UHF, TETRA, DMR or VHF. You can listen to radio traffic to maintain awareness of ongoing situations, and talk to other Sygnal users just as you would with a hardware handset or walkie-talkie.

Calls

You can call any other Sygnal user directly and privately - just like a normal phone. Your existing fixed phones and wireless phone networks can also all talk to handsets running Sygnal. Full SIP interoperability means the system works with Cisco, Mitel, Asterisk and other IPBX systems.

Message

Simple text messages can be sent to and received from other users quickly and easily. Texts can also be received from machine or alarm systems, such as SCADA, Security and personnel paging devices. Users can directly send their location (if GPS/GLONASS/Gallileo is available) to other users from the app. Camera images can also be sent easily to other users.

WHO CAN USE SYGNAL ?

Marine and Offshore

Apart from marine VHF or expensive satellite systems, there are no globally legal radio frequencies for marine handheld radio communication. Analogue and digital UHF systems that use legal frequencies in the USA are illegal to operate in the EU or elsewhere - and vice versa. Sygnal can be operated legally anywhere in the world without a licence, allowing continuity of communications onboard vessels and offshore locations, and avoiding costly radio authority fines,

BYOD means lower operational expense. And users only have to carry one device - their smartphone.

Construction and mining

Special radio systems for large construction site management are often expensive and complex to deploy and operate. By using a secure BYOD (bring your own device) solution such as Sygnal, there is less impact when individual handhelds are lost or damaged, while a wifi or LTE infrastructure supports onsite calling quickly and easily.

Remote Site / Island / Disaster Area Relief

Out-of-the-box deployment. Works where no radio infrastructure exists, such as private islands, or disaster zones where war, hurricanes or seismic activity have destroyed existing infrastructures. Easily interfaces to existing radio systems if required.

Sports venues / Stadiums / Hotels

Provides a simple to use solution for front of house, cleaning teams, parking, security, and others to communicate freely in task specific talkgroups and across all users. Completely scalable, users may be added or removed easily, and may use the application on their own devices. No ongoing devices replacement costs. Devices can include tablets for desk usage by group controllers.

HOW IT WORKS

Sygnal operates in 2 modes. Cloud and Island setups can also be connected together to extend user groups over the internet.

Island mode is used where internet is non-existent, high latency or unreliable, or where legacy radio networks must be fully connected. This requires a Sygnal server onsite.

Cloud mode is used where internet is reliable, fast, and low latency. This uses a Sygnal server in the Cloud. Legacy radio systems have limited connectivity in this setup.
